Thyroid Powder

Latin Name:

Thyreoideae siccata, Thyroxine

Raw Material: Porcine or beef thyroids from animals controlled by an official veterinarian and found fit for human consumption. Bovine raw materials are obtained solely from countries recognized as having a negligible /or controlled BSE-risk in accordance with OIE, Chapter 11.5 of the Terrestrial Code.

The thyroids have a most remarkable capacity to absorb iodine from the circulating blood so that it contains about 20% of the total iodine present in the body. This iodine is used in the manufacture of the hormones Liothyronine (T3) and Levothyroxine (T4). These hormones are released to stimulate the oxidative metabolism in nearly all tissues of the body, the best-known active principle of the Thyroid gland.

Thyroid Powder and Thyroglobulin are used for speeding up the metabolic processes and in treatment of Thyroid insufficiencies and other illnesses caused by low Thyroid activity.
